Can you plug a ROKU HDMI into a USB port? not without breaking it, but you can certainly buy something like THIS, plug the male part to the TV, the your ROKU stick to the female end.

Try a HDMI right-angle adapter.

They come in several orientations (scroll down to the "customers also bought" section). So make sure you get one which works best for you - whether you want the Roku stick to be below, above, to the left, or to the right of the HDMI port.

I always laugh when I see my right angle adapter which is on the wrong side for each and every TV.....xD Make sure you get the correct one if you go with an adapter. A HDMI extension is your best bet. ^^

And to answer: no, you can't. Plugging a Roku stick into the USB of your TV will either break the USB port or the whole TV. ^^;
