Does anyone know anything about the brand Konic? I hav a tv and hd box. The hd box is playing up and I want to connect a dvd player but don't no how. It has Av input on tv but nowhere to plug the dvd player other than using the usual coloured connections

Without makes and model numbers of all your gear we can't tell what connections you have.
Most DVD player only have HDMI outputs. If your TV has only AV connections then you would need an active HDMI to AV converter. A passive cable will not convert digital video and audio to analog so it won't work at all.
