Ok you don't have back light at the LCD, what is your question about it ? What is the manufacturer of you laptop and the model ? You don't give us any informations to help you. So don't be shy to elaborate about your problem.
First make sure the backlight isn't simply turned off with one of the "function" keys. Check your manual to determine which key combo toggles the backlight.

Many laptops have the ability to toggle the backlight on or off. Usually, a combination the "function" key and one of the "F" keys will toggle the backlight.
