My new camera keeps saying card error

Hello,
I just bought a new camera today. It is a SLR like digital Camera by GE. I have found it to be a great camera. I took about 75 pictures today. They are all uploaded on my computer now. But I just took the card out of my computer and put it back into the camera, and it says Card Error and asks if I want to reformat the car, but I'll lose all it's contents. I don't want to lost everything, even though it is on my computer. What should I do?

Possibly, if you have written anything to the card when it was connected to the computer it has been corrupted. If you have saved your pictures to the computer you might as well reformat the card in the camera using the camera's menu.
