Need a editing laptop

I am a high school senior going to college in the fall for film production and plan of focus on editing. I have always been a mac user but not sure if thats the way to go with my next laptop. Right now I am debating between the dell Xps 15 and the Macbook pro 15in. What are the pros and cons of windows vs osx? would I be better off with the xps or mac? Do you have any other laptop suggestions? Thanks for the help.

This depends on the software you are using. I personally would stay away from the new macs though as the ports are terrible (only 4 are there).

Right now I am most likely using premier but want to have other options in the future. And the ports selection on the Mac are not terrible. With an adapter or a few you could have more ports then any other laptop out there.

If you are using premier, then windows. It is more optimised for it. Final cut is more optimised for macs.
