Need help connecting hp 2000 laptop to tv through sound system

i have a hp 2000-2a22NR Notebook and I've hooked it up to my Emerson 32 inch flat screen via HDMI. now my problem is I'd like to have my media music and videos sound come through the RCA surround sound, help me because i'm stuck

You need to connect the audio out from your TV to the surround sound system. You need to determine what kind of audio output you have on the TV (analog, coax digital or optical digital) and the type of audio input on the surround sound. If they do not match you will need to buy an adapter (this can be a digital to analog converter or a converter to change optical to coax digital or vice versa).
