No Sound I am desparate for help returning my sound

I have a HP Pavilion 9500 Notebook PC. No audio output device installed shows when I mouse over my volume thing at the bottom. It also has a red x there all the time. I did uninstall the driver (at least I think it was the driver) and tried a complete shut down so it would pick it up and re-install the driver upon reboot and nothing. I did a restore to 2 days ago and still nothing. I went to HP website and got nothing. Help me please. I can't figure out what happened to this darn thing.

Just discovered I uninstalled the device through the device manager. How can I fix this terrible mistake. Am running Windows Vista Home Premium. Please, please, please....I am begging for some help.
