I know almost nothing about good speakers, all I know is Altec Lansing is purdy good.

I want 5.1, but I know that is expensive, but they would be used for 90% gaming and 10% music.

I want the bass to hit me, I want to feel the bullets.

Keep it under 200, if it is really worth it then bump it up to 300/350

Look at Cerwin Vega speakers

5.1 is awesome but you need good amount of spaces to make it right, otherwise, it's garbage. Go for 2.1 setup : M-Audio BX5a / Audioengine A2 + Dayton subwoofer. You'll never disappointed!

as mabuhani said. depending on the room you are using the speakers in it might not be practical to go with 5.1.

what size room are you in? would you have a place to, place the rear speakers any way?

Yeah I read that. I thought he was still wanting to get a surround sound system as well.
