I finally got my Van Halen: Live Without A Net Laserdisc in the mail today.
Well, actually, it says "Cd-video", but whatver. I slide the disc out and
the bloddy thing is partially split down the middle! HELP! It almost looks
like cardboard on the inside layers, so half my brain is thinking "you can
soooo superglue that together, J". Meanwhile, the other half is showing me
visuals of a LD player on fire. Any suggestions? Even if the disc is
hopeless, it still looks pretty cool :)

Thanks!
Jason

Superglue does not strike me as a good idea. Even if it does hold
together, it would interfere with the laser's ability to read the disc.
More likely, the high rotation speeds inside the machine will cause the
disc to shatter and send shards flying in every direction, tearing up
the insides of your player.

The disc is a lost cause. I would try to get your money back from the
seller if possible. If it wasn't already damaged when he sent it to you,
his packing job must have been woefully inadequate.

Dont dare try to play a cracked disc in you player, you might be sorry.

with your original seller, I might be able to get you his pretty cheap since
its out on DVD. Come back here 1st to let me know if you want me to pursue
trying to get you hooked up with my buddy, my address here is not valid for

This could be be problematic. If the seller claims that the disc was fine
before shipment and that it was damaged by the postal service, you may be SOL
because the item (I'm betting) wasn't insured, and the Postal Service will
probably weasel out of being responsible. You could try to pin the seller for
inadequate packing of the disc but chances are it's going to be a loss on your
part.
