Null laptop?

I'm looking for a laptop that acts as null terminal to a more power PC nearby. By this I mean I want a desktop behind my sofa and to connect to it with a hdmi cable into a laptop which has no internals just a high def screen (ideally 1080p), keyboard and touch pad. Does anybody know of anybody selling such a device? I know I can remote desktop or use VNC but both have issues (directX dupport and latency) however if you have any other ideas for a similar experience to what I'm after I'm all ears!

Too much work to bother unless you are a high level electronics engineer...just use a normal screen...

Most laptops HDMI are OUT not IN...

Buy a cheap 17 or 19 or even 15 and take the stand off the back ?
