Oblivion won't play on my Asus G72GX.

After loading Oblivion on Asus G72GX and clicking on play in the intro screen I get a message that Oblivion has quit working and Windows is looking for a solution. No solution yet. I'm not computer or gaming savvy, so be kind and slow. Thanks

1. Update your video drivers (sometimes can only use ones from your laptop support site, unless you installed a fresh copy of Windows that the laptop manufacturer didn't modify)

2. right click the main oblivion.exe and click the compatibility tab and tick the box "disable desktop composition" and save that

3. If you had STEAM (doesn't sound like it) you could VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE

4. Make sure all UPDATES applied. Steam does this for you; if you installed from a disc then go here: http/support.bethsoft.com/patches.php

Whoopee!! Oblivion now works. Thank you so much PHOTONBOY for your incite-full instructions. Step one took awhile to figure out. Took forever to locate the driver update location. Learned a lot in the searching Quest, no pun intended. Again, THANK YOU for your quick response and helpful instructions. Oh yeah I'm not familiar with STEAM. With high regards
