Optical to RCA Convertor? Will you use lose sound quality?

Hello

I have tried 2 good Turtle Beach stereo headphones with a Optical to RCA Converter I purchased from Amazon. My LED TV doesn't have an audio out, hence the need for a optical converter.

I have noticed my headphone's bass isn't being used at all when using the converter, is it due to the quality/power of the converter.

The converter is plugged directly into my XBOX One.

An "optical to RCA" converter isn't really that. It is an digital audio to analog audio converter which will affect the sound quite a bit. This type of device ranges from 10s of $ to 10K of $.
