Overseas purchases

Ive got no big TV anymore, but I am going over to Thailand for two weeks on family
business. Are the TV's going to be cheaper there? Should I bother getting a small, say 36"
plasma or lcd over there and bring it back? I would obviously buy it, open it, and try it
out for a few days there, then take it back. Or is it not really that much of a $$ change?
Warrenty would be only from manufacturer, so there shouldn't be a problem, as that is what
I would get here Stateside.

It is unlikely that any manufacturer will honor a warranty on a unit
purchased overseas. Also, if the model number is different, there may be no
way to cross reference parts to US models. Not many manufacturers offer any
support at all to units designed for sale elsewhere.
