Perfect laptop for computer science? Laptop or Desktop?

So I am a a new college student and I am going to major in computer science. I currently have a nice gaming desktop but my laptop is very old and I was thinking about upgrading. So my question is what laptop would be perfect for a programmer/computer science major and/or could I get a cheaper laptop and just use my desktop more? If I have to get a very expensive laptop I will probably have to end up selling my desktop.

if ur laptop is for ur daily use except for gaming a ultra book will be fine
asus zenbook or dell xps 13

Go with a thinkpad, I recommend a t460 or t560. They have the best build quality in the industry and they will become obselete before they die.
