Plex on Roku Premiere + codec errors

I have plex on my PS4 and it plays files (.mkv and .mov) without errors. The Roku though cannot play certain .mkv files. The error indicates the required codec cannot load.

I'm not sure what the problem could be as other .mkv files can play okay. Any ideas or is the plex app playback issues on the Roku a known problem and there is no fix ?

What are you using for the Plex server? Sounds like the server isn't transcoding the content. Plex is designed to play any content on any device by transcoding the content to a type that the client can play.

The server is running on Windows 10. I guess there are logs there that I can look at. The Roku client is the only Plex client I am having issues with.

Couldn't make heads or tails of some errors from the plex log.
I went ahead and updated the plex server side version and that seems to have done the trick.
