Plugging a piano keyboard into a receive Pioneer VSX-527

Analogue input from piano keyboard plugged into DVD phono in. Set to A (presumably analogue) on the amp, but getting no sound.

Optical from my computer works so it's not the speakers.

"Phono In" could be an input designed for very low turntable audio output. "Analog In 1 (CD)" is more appropriate input for that.

Check with another device that the input is OK, like your phone / tablet.

Receiver doesn't have phono input for turntable.
Specs on that receiver show one assignable analog audio input. That means that you have to assign it to an input name before you can use it. DVD would likely to assigned to HDMI for video and audio by default. The input set up menu would be were you do that.
