Power button connector

Hello,
I need help, I was replacing my display screen and during the disassembly, I broke the zif connector that the ribbon cable goes into. Now the cable will not stay. it keeps slipping out, and the laptop wont start, it is a compaq presario cq60.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks in advance....lol

how badly did you break it? Is there enough there to still line the cable up correctly with the pins?

Actually the cable and the end connector is all in tact. What the instructions did not tell you is that on this model of Compaq presario there is no clip to push so that it will release the ribbon from the zif socket on the motherboard.

When I removed the power button cable, the little plastic piece that keeps the cable secure popped out. Although, the ribbon cable will go all the way in, it will not stay because that piece is gone.

What are your thoughts?
