Won't power on with or whitout battery installed. AC adapter is connected and checked ok for funktionality. Removed battery and CMOS clock battery for full reset without luck.
Problem started 2 day ago when I was to power up the laptop and nothing happened. No leds light up at all. The day before all was normal.
However, when I removed the bottom cover to gain access to the battery I found a what seems to be a broken IC. It's placed between the coolinf fan and the HD on the rigth side. The IC abut 2 x 2 cm and the connection terminals is covered with a plastic sheet. The center of it is covered by a small sheet af glass. It's the glass that's has shattered. Anyone who now what IC it is and the function of it?

Thanks for the information. Now I have to figgure out what happened with the computer as it won't start at all.. Is it possible that a deffective VRAM could have that impact on the PC, that it won't start at all?
