Processor Compatibility

Basically ill i want to know is: Whats the fastest processor my laptop supports and can i put a new one in?

I want to know what processors are compatible with my laptop and if i can even upgrade the processor in this laptop.

I have a gateway nv53a: http/support.gateway.com/s/notebook/20…

Right now it has a AMD Turion II X2 processor P540

It's an S1 socket but the newer s4 or something, im not real sure.

Laptop processors are usually rather expensive and hard to come by in my experience, not to mention the fact that they are more tricky to install; you may be better looking for a new laptop.
