Quad Core Query

Hi. I am into typing work and photography. I work on MS Office and Adobe Photoshop. I m looking for a basic laptop. I liked Acer E1-510 with Pentium Quad Core 2.16 GHz and 2GB RAM 500GB HDD. Will this specification serve my purpose? I am NOT AT ALL a gamer. Please suggest.

Do u really need a laptop? U will get far more for your money from a desktop... And u will b able t upgrade it later if need be

If your not after blistering speed at rendering Photoshop, then yes, it will work fine. The Intel HD video is a bit lacking in grunt, especially as no Quick Synch video support, which is a real benefit for Adobe apps.

ACER is on the lower end of reliability for systems, you should look at ASUS, Dell or Lenovo. I would not run a system with 2 gig RAM for someone that is a photographer. The system has a good size screen but the resolution is pretty low for that size and will limit how much you can see at one time.

Since you can't upgrade laptops much past RAM, I suggest spending another $100-200 on a better system or get a desktop.
