Greetings to all the fellows in Tom's Hardware Forum once more!

My laptop is a Sony VAIO VPCEC2M1E with these specs: http://mobile-computers.tech-specs.com/sony-vaio-vpcec2m1e-wi-n57149865 ,it's more that 7years old and i thought, it would be nice, ('cause the laptop itself is still a "beast") to upgrade at least its RAM to its maximum capacity (8GB).

What I ask you is, if you can tell me the specific requirements of the RAM my laptop can take. Doing so, you will put my mind at ease, that next time I will search for a RAM with your given specifications, I can buy it ,without a second thought of not working on my system.

Here are some of the compatible upgrades Crucial suggests for my laptop: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Sony/vaio-vpcec2m1e

Taking into account Crucial's recommendations, these are the specs all the RAM have :

•DDR3L PC3L-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3L-1600 • 1.35V •

,saying that much, if I find a RAM with the same exact specs, will I have no problem at all using it?

P.S.: I want to buy from my country's shops (easier/faster), so ordering something from other countries is out of the question.

Thanks a lot for your time checking at my problem! I am looking forward to your reply!

Hi,

Actually the crucial website is a reputable website that sells RAM's and SSD's. Based from the link you posted it says it all on what RAM and SSD your laptop will be compatible with.

And again based from Crucial's website, the maximum RAM that you can upgrade your laptop is 8GB. There are 2 RAM slots so you can put 2 4GB RAM which you can buy from that website you posted.
