Really need suggestion to choose this laptops!

Recently i browsed some sites to replace my i3 laptop. Here's my candidate:

Asus X450JN 14inch 1366x768 glossy TN
CPU: Intel core i7-4710HQ
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 840M 2GB-DDR3
RAM: 8GB
HDD: 1TB
+Aluminium Palm rest, plastic lid

TOTAL = $687

Asus N550JV 15 inch 1920x1080 anti-glare IPS
CPU: Intel core i5-4200H
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT750M 2GB-DDR3
RAM: 8GB
HDD: 1TB
+With bluray bay
+Aluminium case
+Quad speaker with MAXX
+Dual thermal

TOTAL = $831

I used it mainly for (a lot of) heavy video editing, photoshop, 1080p movies (MadVR high setting), occasional gaming (ARMA 3 only), and learning Maya, Blender and 3dMAX.

So what do you recommend? An ordinary 14' but pack i7-4710HQ or funky 15' with i5?

My choice is locked for these two, please don't include another, unless you suggest me to buy an PU451....

I would not suggest or even consider the ASUS X450JN with such a low screen resolution unless you plan to use an external monitor that supports 1920x1080 (1080p).

The Asus N550JV is fine but the processor is slow in comparison to the ASUS X450JN.

I really suggest you keep looking in the price range you're comfortable with there are many other options.

I have one 1080p monitor in my home. Would you still recommend the N550? And if it's the best option, will it have enough power to run the applications above?
