I'm installing a new SSD in my ASUS Q551 laptop, I installed Windows 7 on it but can't find the drivers for this laptop in windows 7, I'm now trying to install windows 8 with a DVD I burned with an .iso image. Do I need to get rid of windows 7 on it first? I've set my primary boot option to the DVD drive and disabled the ssd option. I'm now getting a Reboot and Select Proper boot device or insert boot media when I try to run from the DVD, why is this?

Sounds like the DVD isnt bootable.
You dont just copy the iso file to a dvd, you have to extract it. Win7 and up can do this natively. Did you use something else?
