Recording question...

I have digital cable, but only in the living room. I would like to "tape"
shows currently broadcast on HBO, etc., to my HD & am needing some advice.
The cable box has an S-Video out connection & my TV Tuner (MSI TV@nywhere)
card has S-Video, as well. Can I put an S-Video jack in the wall & run a
cable through the attic to my computer? Is there a distance limitation on
S-Video? Also, I currently have been recording through my Cable connection
using InterVideo MSIPVS, which came with the card. I'll tape a show, edit
the commercials out & then burn to a DVD-RW, for watching later. I'm running
XP Pro with a 3Ghz P4, 800MHz FSB with 1GB of RAM & things move kinda slow.
Is there better software out there, or any suggestions to speed things up?

It looks like there's no real limit, as long as your talking about running
it around a house.
I was curious about the same thiing and I googled <svideo extension>. I do
not know
this company name.

Depends on the quality of the cable, the picture will just get shabbier the
longer you go, remember S-Video doesn't include a stereo pair so you need to
run some additional cables or audio, or an optical/coax spdif if you can.
