I just replaced the cracked screen of my Thinkpad T23 Laptop because the bottom 1/4 of the screen suffered a crack.
Once I connected the replacement screen, I did a test boot before screwing everything back in place. Logo appeared (flickered briefly but I ignored it), I entered BIOS, shut the computer off, and proceeded to replace the bezel.
Replacing the bezel did not go smoothly requiring a half-dozen attempts to seat the screen so all the screw-holes lined up. Once I was finally done, I tried booting the computer again. The IBM logo appeared, but seconds later the computer shut off.
Thinking the battery might be dead, I tried it with the a/c adapter. Same thing. Logo with mild flickering, and the computer shutting off before I could enter BIOS.
Note, the replacement screen I purchased was "used" yet appeared to be in good condition. Screen flickers when displaying the logo and it appears a tad dark making me question the backlight. There is always the possibility I got a bad replacement screen that the laptop isn't detecting properly and is promptly shutting off. Dunno.
Any ideas?
