Roxio Pro wont record my pc tower on TV (HDMI)

Ok so my problem is that I got a roxio (pro) to record my PC gameplay and ive set it up to my tv and pc tower (because my pc monitor has no hdmi) and when i go to open up my program to start recording nothing pops up on the tv ? How do i set it up to work im not sure if ive done something wrong or if its something broken i dont know what to do HELP MEEEEEE !!!!!
