Samsung Galaxy tab4 pad won't start

Samsung Galaxy tab4 pad won't start. Died two days ago and method #1 (power + vol up + home button) successfully reset the charger circuit, and it booted fully charged. Stayed charged and worked fine until today. Tried method #1 and then method #2 (power + vol up) but neither worked. Hoping for any suggestions to restart and/or harvest data to avoid factory reset. Tks in advance for any help.

ANS: Yes, the pad is fully charged once it turns on so I assume it is receiving a charge. Update. The morning after posting the help request, I tried method #3 (power + vol Down) and it booted, with no effect on the OS or memory. Looking into replacing the pad.
