Reminds me of that south park where they wrote that "worlds grossest book" or what ever.

Anyways. This is wayy out of line for the school district. One picture of someone who didn't technically pay insurance, ok maybe. But 1,000+ images of students? That doesn't just happen by accident.

[citation][nom]crazazyasian1337[/nom]jeez, people who don't go to the school think its a bigger deal than those that go there. blake didn't pay the insurance on his laptop, thus the computer was categorized as lost/stolen and it was standard procedure to take pictures from the computer if it was lost or stolen to determine where it was. Now the fact that they didn't confront him ever and just kept taking pictures is a whole other issue, but the software on the computers themselves was perfectly within the rules.[/citation]

WTF are you babbling about? They have 1000's of pics from all of the webcams on all of the macbooks the school handed out. So EVERYONE forgot to pay for the laptops? WTF is your problem that you stand up for a bunch of sick pedopervs at all? Sick fuck.

[citation][nom]rockstone1[/nom]I'm happy that my school provides us with dell Laptops and are too poor for Laptop Cameras[/citation]

Don't almost all new Dell laptops have a webcam built into the frame of the screen? You might want to look a little closer.

I hope the D620s and 30s don't...

They sure don't. Looks like you don't have to worry about the pedosquad listening in to your IM's. Booya.

They're just lucky it's not me at their school. I'd sit and wait for that little light to come on so I could expose my junk for the camera, then run in the next room and tell my Dad the Sheriff that I know where he can find child porn.

Yeah! Thats good news.

Hopefully the Lenovo's next year don't change that.

Who's rules?

Crazazy how about read up a tad more on it. The parents had talked to the school about not being able to pay the full, and they said it was fine. Of course that is coming from the parents.

But even if they didn't the school simply had to ask blake to turn it in, and at the end of the day they could've got the laptop back without turning the camera on rather easily. Only if blake refused to give it back would this be even close to acceptable.

The emails also prove this was an act of stupidity, and for me anyways takes away any creditability the school may have had.

[citation][nom]JonathanDeane[/nom]Its my opinion that when some one pleads the fifth, they are guilty. The worst part in all this I think is the waste of tax payer dollars in order to do all this. I agree the schools computers should have software to filter out naughty content or even limit what programs run, but to spy on people is a different subject and one that is a touchy one at best.[/citation]

What? If you cite the 5th amendment you are guilty? What kind of asinine logic is that. If you are charged with a crime the 5th amendment protects you from testifying against yourself. They can't force you to talk. Any lawyer worth his salt will tell you to not say a WORD to the police or investigators and invoke the 5th amendment every single chance you get. There are a multitude of reasons why but these reasons are obviously well beyond your level of comprehension if you think the 5th amendment is only used for guilty parties.

Yeah, take one law class and you will understand why people plead the 5th. Ever said anything stuid? Now think about saying something stupid in front of a grand jury or policeman without a lawyer. That's instant "guilty" right there.

Hard to believe someone was ok with approving these pictures be taken....and even more hard to believe they took so many before it got out that they were taking them.
