Sd card problem

I have taken photos on a trail cam which I have viewed on the cam, but when I bring the sd card and either put it on my laptop or in my camera it says no images found, but put it back in the trail cam and I can view my photos, so how can I get he photos on to my laptop. If I format the sd card I loose all the photos. I will format the card once I've down loaded the images.

It may be the format the trailcam saves in. Is there a cable connection from the trailcam to the PC, or is it just remove the card?

What model trailcam is it?
