Set internal storage

I have a Samsung Galaxy J1 phone and I can't set my sd card as internal storage. I formatted my SD card (it didn't mention anything about internal storage though.) and set default storage as SD card on the native internet app yet I still can't download anymore apps because I have "insufficient storage" please help.

If you formatted it in Windows before putting it into the phone, Windows wouldn't have offered the Internal or Portable Storage option - that would have been in the phone's Settings.

I formatted it in my phone settings but it didn't give me any options offering Internal or Portable storage.

I suggest formatting it with an NTFS file system in Windows then introduce it to the Android device. Then the choice should be available.

Is the device running Marshmallow or the latest flavour, Nougat?

It is running lollipop, I believe. I'll try formatting it like that.
