What do you recommend?


If I have to upgrade my pc, what's the route for best value? Can I keep everything the same and just upgrade the CPU to fix the set up (and upgrade the GPU to preemptively stop the next error )?

I am on a tight budget. But if my CPU lacks the instructions then I'll do what I must!

We can't tell you what you can do unless you provide the specs of your current rig.

Plus, you should have checked the minimum requirements before getting the Oculus.

CPU: Intel Core i5 4590 or greater.

Your easiest way to get to a system that will support it is probably to sell all or part of what you have and start over.

If you have a full Windows license, then you could sell your CPU, mobo, RAM and GPU to get this:

New plan!

I decided I can't afford this set up. I'm opting to sell the DK2 to pay for this Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB DDR5 WindForce 3 that I bought 5 seconds ago on eBay for $199. All I want to do is have Killer Instinct at max setting and GTA Online at 2560x1080. Would love to play with the oculus dev kit on windows 10 but it isn't remotely close to within my budget.


It's been a blast-processing these parts for a build. Thank you Geedwad you've spurred my thoughts!
