Hi,

I'm trying to setup my Sony TV in such a way that the Cable Box is connected to the Sony TV while the sound is coming from the Phillips soundbar.

My current setup is that the Sony TV is connected to the Cable Box via HDMI.
Soundbar has two connections to the TV, one HDMI, one RCA (White,Red) Connection.

Is there any way I could get my setup to work in such a way mentioned above?

Thank you for your help in advance.

My setup is as follows:
Sony BRAVIA KDL-46EX650
Phillips Soundbar HTB7150/98
Cable Tv Box

Solution
plug the soundbar output hdmi to hdmi 1 in on the bottom of the tv. This is the ARC capable port. ARC starts for Audio Return Channel, so that audio can be sent down the HDMI cable for any source the TV is on. On the soundbar you may be to select

You need to use a high speed hdmi cable, and it's explain in your manual so pay attention to the stuff about ARC

The other option if you don't want to use ARC and give up an HDMI port, or it doesn't work (I've had problems with it) is to go with a optical audio out. Both your TV and your soundbar have an optical port. When that's hooked up, any sound that the TV would use its speakers for get sent to the soundbar. Page 12 of your soundbar manual shows it and this page shows it on your TV.
