Yes im talking about dedicated, not integrated.

Iv got a i7-6700HQ with intel graphics 530 and a GTX 970M.

I know shared memory means my RAM, and that integrated cards use it since they dont have that much VRAM. But why does my dedicated have it, but, never use it?

On my integrated card it says:
"
Approx. Total Memory: 8258 MB
Display Memory (VRAM): 128 MB
Shared Memory: 8130 MB
"
and on my dedicated it says:
"
Approx. Total Memory: 11171 MB
Display Memory (VRAM): 3040 MB
Shared Memory: 8130 MB
"

What does shared memory entail when its for the dedicated card, and why does my computer never use it?

When you run a GPU intensive program and that program needs more than the 3GB that is dedicated to the GPU, it will start using RAM up to 8130GB. You should be able to adjust that in the BIOS.
