Sharp tv model LC-19SB15U trying to connect sound bar Megacra S7020 . I tried optical connections no sound, tried RCA 3

Tried optical connection, no sound, tried RCA to 3.5 mm no sound. Tv has no option in menu to turn on external speaker, no way to turn off tv speakers.

I had a quick look at your manual ... I see what you mean, there doesn't appear to be any way to toggle the optical connection to on- or to toggle the speakers to off - that is very strange! Don't know what to suggest other than contacting Sharp.

Thinking of the RCA to 3.5 mm - you plugged the 3.5 into the headphone jack ... NOT the input jack ....yes?
