I have a laptop which was originally bought for £200 2 years ago. I use it for mainly youtube and surfing the web and one or two games on Steam. Everything is fine except for 4 keys aren't working. I am growing an interest in video games and was wondering if I should trade it in for a console instead. My laptop model is Lenovo B50-30 and I'm looking at getting a PS4. OPINIONS PLEASE!

Solution
It's not worth trading in if it is not working properly. Unless of course someone is willing accept it "as is", but it greatly reduces it's value.

If you do not need a laptop, then sure get a PS4 because the Lenovo B50-30 is a really weak laptop.

i love computers. you can do so much more than just play games and watch movies or whatever a PS4 does these days.

So my recommendation is to upgrade to a desktop. Took years of poking my brother to ditch his laptops for a desktop for gaming. But by tossing your laptop out you lose a lot of functionality. Really how much do you expect to sell it for? You can maybe get 1/4 of what you paid for it especially for a low end model. In that price range people would more likely go for a cheap tablet than a used outdated laptop.

If you can't upgrade to a desktop, keep the laptop and get the console too.

Windows 8.1 with Bing

320 GB HDD
DVD±RW optical drive
Intel HD Graphics
802.11b/g/n
gigabit ethernet
SDHC card reader
1x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0 ports
HDMI, VGA video outputs
Bluetooth 4.0

45 W mains adaptor
380 x 260 x 32.5-26.5 mm

But if he doesnt want to waste money for ps4 he could just trade the laptop. Im a PC gamer and nerd and I personally dont like consoles. But if he wants to go with console's for easy and cheap gaming, I say go for the trade.

I didn't pay for it so it isn't really a loss on my behalf.

How much would you say I could sell it for? I'm only 15 and will have to work to get the money. So saving might take a while

don't think there is any upgrading on that laptop to be done. Another thing to consider is you have to buy games. usually quite expensive in of itself! I think you should just keep your money for now.
