Should I turn surround sound for my Logitech g430 off?

When I turn surround sound off for my logitech g430 off, music sounds better and I can clearly distinguish between instruments. I haven't tested it with gaming yet. To all of you who have this headset, how does it sound to you?

Having surround enabled isn't always better even for gaming - follow the directions here both with and without surround, see if you think you need it enabled https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUDTlvagjJA

true. generally you can hear more with stereo because the headset isnt muting 4 of the channels to give that false spacial awareness.
so for movies and music turn it off. if a game supports 7.1 then use it, if not then dont.
