I have an old Sky box (Amstrad DRX550) with Scart only and a new Samsung TV (UE40NU7120K) with only HDMI connections. I have therefore used a Scart-HDMI converter to connect the 2 but the picture quality on the TV is poor.
How do I get around this?

Do I have to change the specific picture settings on Sky (scart output, RGB on) or anything else?? Have played around with these but to no avail. What am I missing here?

Thanks in advance

Your old box may needs to be upgraded. Can't keep old stuff forever am afraid, they get obsolete. Are u paying for HD service? doesn't Sky provide you with updated equipment? (I dunno about EU ways).

Non HD content looks pretty bad on an HDTV. The scart-HDMI converter makes it worse.
No adjustments can help. As suggested above you definitely need a new HD Skybox.
