Software and Files that aren't needed?

Hello everyone!

So my question is; is there a software to tell me which software or files on my PC are not needed and can be uninstalled?

I've used "Should I remove it" but it doesn't seem to go into the detail i'm hoping for.
The detail I'm looking for is a program that tells me if I NEED files such as; Akamai NetSession, or Microsoft SQL Server 2012...

Any advice or answers are welcomed.

The only one who can tell whether you need a piece of software or not is YOU (the user).
- Do you need that copy of CS taking 1gb?
- Do you need Microsoft Office Ultimate Enterprise Blue taking 600mb?
- Do you need this BD movie rip taking 12gb?

As for what you've listed: You can uninstall Akamai NetSession. As for SQL Server - it depends whether you installed it, or some other app you are using.

That makes sense, But I meant more about those hidden files, or the files, usually Java and Microsoft, that have multiple versions.

Open "Programs and Features" applet in Control Panel, and click on "Installed date". If an application was installed as a prerequisite of another application, both of these applications will be listed with very close dates.

Java and Microsoft (that's .NET Framework) - these are usually installed by another applications, and removing them might break these applications.SQL Server is usually installed by development tools like Visual Studio, while its Compact coupterpart could be used by other apps as well. Again - there is no "automated" way to tell whether these "extras" are "needed" or not.
