Sonar Audio to Reason

Is there a way to route an Audio track in Sonar to Reason via ReWire? I
want an audio track as Reason's Vocoder controller. Reason's options of
playing the audio via sampler is not very user-friendly. Is there a
way? Or any other way to push audio to Reason Vocoder?

Thanks,

I don't think so. Reason doesn't record audio, it's a MIDI sample
player and sequencer.

You can send MIDI signals from SONAR to Reason. So Rewire is
definitely two-ways. But I want to send Audio (wave) tracks
to Reason.

My another problem is that my Midi controller keyboard
signal is configured to go to Sonar. If I can even route
my MIDI signal to Reason via Sonar real time (as opposed
to first record that in Sonar and then sending to Reason
by playing that track), that will suffice too.

Thanks for all the responses.

rewire only goes from REason to the rewire capable app.

That's a pity if so. Half the attraction of an analog-synth-emulation
system is being able to use its modules to process other signal sources...

The only way to do this is to make a sample out of the audio you need to
vocord and send that through the NNXT sampler in Reason.

Well, I have no big experience with ReWire, but some friends use it
regularly (Cubase + Reason). They definitely can use ReWire at least so far,
that they can start the start/stop trigger from Cubase to control that
function within Reason. Besides that, I think they send MIDI triggers from
Cubase to Reason to control what Reason does... so that would mean, ReWire
is bi-directional. Don´t know, how far that applies to the ReWire
implementation in Sonar.

Reason will run as SONAR's 'slave' and not the other way around.
You can easily import the desired audio file in one of Reason's modules
though...
Try importing your file onto either one of the sampler modules, or
drRex (even redrum would do).

Good Luck,

NOT for audio though. Only MIDI.

This can be done by having 'Echo' on for the track
whose output is one of the Reason instruments. I just
found that out over the weekend, with the help of
Reason doc.

Can't you render the audio to an audio track in sonar, and then choose
reason as the output?
I dunno, never tried.

No. When you add Reason to your Sonar project, Reason
doesn't appear as an option in the Output dropdown of
an audio track (as it does on a Midi track). At least
I couldn't find it.

I will more than happy to be proven wrong here.
