Sony BDV F500 - connectingtto the internet

Hello
Does anyone know if only Sony Wireless Lan USBs are compatible with Sony products?
I recently bought a Sony BDV-F500 BluRay Home Cinema System, and to allow me to access the internet on it a AirLink 101 AWLL6075 300Mbps 802.11n Wireless LAN USB 2.0 Mini Adapter.
When I plug it in I get a message saying it is not compatible. Having spoken to the person who sold me the Sony system they say I need to buy the Sony USB as other makes are not compatible. As the Sony USB is 3 times the price does anyone know if this is true?

first the model is not that one ... is BDVE500W the most aproximated one

and yes the only one that will work with those units is the one sony makes (have tryed a couple already) but also what I can tell you is that the sony works for every sony product because I have read that is in almost all of the newest units manuals

and the model is UWABR100 the sony adapter, cost 79.99 USD no tax included
