Sony sound bar with Onkyo 626

I have a sony sound bar with HDMI output. My Onkyo 626 receiver appears to only handle hard wire input for a center speaker connection. Will or should it work if I use one of the many hdmi input spots? Thanks.

Onkyo 626 is quite capable 7.2 network receiver, and your Sony soundbar is just... a sounbar.
What you want to use your soundbar for - as an input device for Onkyo, or as an output device?
And what "center speaker connection" has to do with a soundbar?

You will not be able to use the HDMI connection. If your sound bar has an analog stereo input then you can use a speaker to line level adapter to connect it to the Onkyo speaker outputs.
