Sound no video Roku TCL tv

We have a Roku TCL television. Trying to hook up a DVD player, we get sound but no video. Cables out from dvd are yellow white Red, plugs into adapter that plugs into tv with what looks like a headphone jack.
Set TV to DVD and it says “DVD player no signal (is it on?)”... yes, it’s on, we hear the movie playing..

No, there is just AV in, and it came with an adapter red yellow white to 1 AV. Like a Y cable but with 3 in instead of 2, and 1 out.

Have you tried switching the tv settings (source to AV in)?

Since you are getting sound we know that those connections are good.
Check the TV menu. You may need to set the AV input to composite video instead of component video.
