Static noise when recording

Hi guys

When i record a get a horrible static noise, anyone know why this is... i have the jacks plugged into the back via a splitter for headphones and mic because they are headphones with a mic?

Try without the splitter, try the front jacks. Why do you even need a splitter for? Just use the mic/headphones out ports if the headset has the dual connections. Or do you have one of those inline mic headsets with only one jack?

You can always try another splitter, some cheap ones will cause issues. And it could always be the mic on the headset.
