steam mic problem

i have a razer kraken usb headset with a built in mic and i have the mic setup as default device and communications device and it only picks up the headphones not the actual mic PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sounds like it might be a windows problem (if thats what you use) make sure that it is also the default device for windows. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the drivers for the mic.

I fixed it by updating to windows 10 thanks though
