Steam was hijacked

For some reason, my steam (the application, not the browser) has pop up ads, and in some places, there is blue underlined text.

Here's what I mean :

Go to your steam folder in program files and delete everything but your games. then reinstall steam. You probably got some sort of virus. get Malwarebytes to see.

Thanks for the quick answer, I did what you said, and ran the malwarebytes scan, i deleted everything it found, now do i re-install steam, or is there anything else i should do first?
