Hi all,

Like the title says...I've been racking my brain the last couple of days and am stuck with the following products:

ASUS ROG Strix GL702VM
MSI APACHE GE72VR
ASUS GL753VE
MSI GT72VR Dominator

They are all almost the same but that is because I excluded the ones with 1050Ti in favor for 1060 so at that price range they all seem identical.

I never game on Laptop - that's what my PC is for but I prefer a powerful GPU just in case I need to stay somewhere and need to pass some time..(Also future proofing)
I am mostly getting it for development (web & desktop) so visual studio etc..nothing too demanding but the more powerful the better...

Thanks..

For programming, the cpu is the most important. The 7th gen is better for this. If gaming is more important, then the gpu is more important.

Cheers guys
The processor difference is about 10% while the GPU would be more like 50-60% and additionally VR-ready (even if I am not planning for VR at the moment).

Does that make a difference?

Then get the one with the more powerful gpu as games become more intensive very quickly. Also 10% is not that much that you will notice it.

As for gaming gtx 1060 can get you on 1080ultra at 60fps. Its a very solid GPU.
Gtx 1060 vs gtx1050ti
-6gb vs 4gb vram.
-way higher core count - 1280 vs 768 CC
-higher bus widrh - 192bit vs 128bit
-higher bandwidth and 192gb/s vs 112gb/s
Gtx 1060 offers more than 60% performance over of a gtx 1050ti https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GTX_1050_Ti_Strix_OC/29.html.
And for devs I believe you need better GPU .
7700hq vs 6700hq is irrelevant. There aren't apps/games to stores out 6700hq that much anyways.

Acer predator is a very powerful and well cooled machine that you can reliably game on. Also make sure you buy a laptop that has the 6gb version of 1060.

Thanks a lot i am currently considering this.. I might even jump to 1070 if the price difference is not that big.. Future proofing
