I want to install my satellite speakers on the wall, the house has speaker wire pre installed in the walls but with no connectors. the connection needed to go from sub to speakers are rca. Are there any rule on the connecting such as same wire connected at both ends the same.

Solution
Buddy, give us more information about your speakers and we should give you help.
5.1 and 7.1 are with solo chancels (front left/right back left/right center and sub or simular) Every chanel should be connected good to the subwoofer or any kind fo amp.

Ok this is the Vizio 5.1 system with wireless sub the satellite speakers connect to the sub (it handles the output to them L R) I have a house that was pre wired with cable for speakers but was never hooked up wanted to install the satellite speakers to that and run the lines back to the sub using the existing speaker wires but need to put rca plugs on as this is how the speakers are.pluged into from the wireless sub and at the sub end they are.also rca plugs (both sides male)

Yes, what you have on the wall is probably speaker wire. you should not create an RCA connectors from that unless you are connecting it to speaker line. RCA cable uses coax cable. You can use the cable for RCA connector if its a network cable (twisted pair) ONLY TO USE AS RF SIGNAL AND NOT DIGITAL.
