Sub woofer

my subwoofer has it\'s own power source, volume control and power on/off behind it , it also connects with a rca jack to the amplifier, but my type of amplifier has a speaker wire connection to connect to the sub woofer not an rca connector. how can i connect my sub to my amp?

you might not be able to, you could use the tape out, but the amp volume would not control the tape out volume.
you cannot hook a speaker out to a line input on a subwoofer, it will burn maybe.

I have exactly the reverse problem. My subwoofer has both left and right speaker wire inputs and left and right RCA inputs. The amplifier has only a single RCA subwoofer output. Can I by a connect that has a single female RCA input with a dual RCA output, and woud it function.

If you are still facing that problem then i think you should call a engineer.

Thanks. That's why I'm asking.
So now it's more expediture for a new subwoofer.
That was not in the game plan.

And Veteran, I'm a rookie.. why would the dual RCA combined to form a single RCA jack not function? Kind of like AC vs DC?

You can plug the LFE out to the RCA in (Right or left). Just lower the volume first before testing.

if u plug the subwoofer in to the rca out, u wont have the option to use the volume control on the amp. it has to be pre amp, or speaker terminal.
