Surround sound speakers work but not loud

Hello,
I auto calabrated my new sony 5.1 surround sound. Speakers great during test, but now they work, but not loud at all?? I have HDMI cable plugged in MAX volume is quiet. What have I done wrong?

OK just an update. My speakers seem to work great with DVD, but not with regular TV. Why???
