Hi,

In my setup I've got a Pioneer CLD-2950 connected to my PC via a Bt848
tv-card. I use DScaler to deinterlace and view my laserdiscs. To connect
the ld player and the PC a composite video cable or a S-Video cable can
be used.

If the composite video cable is used to connect the two devices, the
comb filter on my Bt848 does the splitting of the composite video signal
into a luminance and a chroma signal. If the S-Video cable is used the
comb filter in my LD-player is used.

My question comes down to this: which comb filter is better, the one in
my LD-player or the one on my Bt848 tv-card?

Try both and see which makes you the happiest. I PC should be noisier but
you never know until you try it.

You may get different answers from different people. We all have different
requirements unless the BT848 is really bad.
